It is a bit intimidating with a panther by my side.”
“The ultimate accessory. Beats a man bag, doesn’t it?” Finn plucked Luke’s beanie from his head and ruffled the short blond hair. “He’s a cat, tends to see things in black and white, but he’s learning. With you to guide him, he’ll catch on fast.”
“Oh, I don’t know. Fair warning, if I catch him drinking from the toilet, I’ll be sporting a fancy new panther-skinned man bag”—Luke combed his hair back in place with his fingers—“with matching beanie.”

Luke glanced around. “It’s a wonderful party. I’d love some crackling, honey.” Luke winked.

“As you wish.” Finn playfully slapped Luke’s ass as he left to do as Luke requested, a smile on his face. Honey indeed! He selected a couple of crispy pieces, then became sidetracked by the array of sweets and in particular a rich chocolate mousse cake. He carefully cut a huge wedge and picked up a couple forks. They could share. When he turned, Eric, the fucking Viking, was all over Luke like a rash. Finn saw red, and the cat was all for eviscerating him on the spot.

Druids Lodge starts with the death of a much loved older character. Henry Darcy. Finn's father, and Luke Devlin's guardian.

Here are another six sentences from our new book, Druids Lodge. Due out on May 2nd, at Dreamspinner Press.

The lights dimmed, and when they brightened, a pack of wolves faced him. One darted behind the others, dribbling piss, tail tucked between its legs. Finn curled his lip at the pungent aroma and let loose a mighty roar. The other wolves sized him up, cunning yellow-brown eyes keen and eager. They split up and came at him from all sides. He released the cat.
