Here are a few
sentences from a WIP
A young thief, Ethan James, gets more than he bargained for after stealing a priceless relic. He is forced to work with Ash Stephanos, an expert on Egyptian antiquities, to free himself from the grasp of a vindictive ancient God.
A young thief, Ethan James, gets more than he bargained for after stealing a priceless relic. He is forced to work with Ash Stephanos, an expert on Egyptian antiquities, to free himself from the grasp of a vindictive ancient God.
This scene takes place right after Ash's visit to
Manny. Ethan and Ash are sitting in Ash's Shelby Cobra.
In profile Ash was striking. With his strong
features, square jaw, and perfect tanned skin, Ash would not look out of place
on the cover of GQ. “So you’re saying you have to be a believer for magic to
work?” Ethan asked.
“This is the 21st century, Ethan. Most scoff at the
thought of magic, however we all believe in something, whether it be faith,
science, luck, karma. Call it what you will. Life is designed around certain
rituals. We follow our path to its end. Was it by chance or circumstances that
made you a thief?”
Chance or circumstances? Ethan tucked a stray
strand of hair behind his ear as repressed memories surged forward. He licked his lips and forced a smile as he
replied “Neither. Careers day came and went, nothing interested me until Manny
came along.”
That's a great answer!
