Here are a few sentences from a WIP

A young thief, Ethan James, gets more than he bargained for after stealing a priceless relic. He is forced to work with Ash Stephanos, an expert on Egyptian antiquities, to free himself from the grasp of a vindictive ancient God.

This unedited scene takes place in the Egyptian exhibit at the British Museum. Ethan's first encounter with Ash.

Ethan took one last look around as he strode towards the exit. He may be a thief, but this collection was the rape and theft of a country's heritage on a grand scale. He brushed past the pair, their ongoing heated discussion a perfect distraction.

A smile spread across his face as he reached into his pocket. He waited until he was outside before giving into temptation. The exquisite scarab ring was very old and very much to his taste.

  1. Oh, naughty Ethan, justifying his wrongs by citing a "wronger" wrong. No wonder he's going to end up with a vengeful god after him.

  3. Oooh, sneaky! Is it bad that I like Ethan just from these six lines?

  4. Great setting. Looking forward to reading more from this. (I love that the ring wasn't just something valuable to steal, but something that caught his eye and was his taste. Makes seem less mercenary than stealing just because of its worth.)
